Supervise and Lead a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering work for large sized projects or proposals assuming entire responsibility for the detailed design. Shall provide necessary technical information and support for procurement of all Rotating Equipment and related packages in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets. Shall adhere to cost/ budgeted man-hour and project schedules. Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives. Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses within the discipline to serve as a technical specialist when required. The candidate shall possess in-depth technical knowledge of at least three of the following Rotating Equipment/Packages: Centrifugal pumps/Centrifugal Compressors/Reciprocating Compressors/Screw Compressors/Gas Turbines/Utility Packages (Instrument Air/Nitrogen generation/Steam Generators)/Water Treatment Packages/Refrigeration Packages

  • Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents.
  • Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of the Technical Document Register.
  • Coordinate with projects/planning on project time schedules. Develop manpower charts and schedules.
  • Direct the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions), participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE). Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and are within budgeted costs.
  • Administer the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Carry out risk/reward/technical integrity studies of the systems related to his work in continuous co-ordination with other disciplines and project management team.
  • Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives on technical issues, conduct internal staff progress meetings.
  • Participate in HAZOP meeting with clients and representatives of other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Company's ISO Quality procedures.

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 18 years of detail design engineering related experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy organisations or EPC for petrochemical or for the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Possess good knowledge of relevant API codes and standards. Shall possess ability to grasp other international standards as demanded by work.

  • Demonstrates overall supervision and administrative oversight of personnel including engineers and technical specialists.
  • Coordinates to achieve productive relationship with the offshore engineering centres within the organisation (globally).
  • Provides necessary guidance on manpower planning and takes responsibility for recruitment and performance management of his/her team.
  • Provides technical expertise and support during various phases of the project design and execution.
  • Demonstrates experience and expertise with various engineering deliverables and procurement engineering and is aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of the department’s scope of work.
  • Assists in the planning and management of departmental /team objectives, budgets and resource requirements.
  • Promotes innovation, departmental improvement and team working for continuous improvement of knowledge base, cost-consciousness, and Quality and Safety Procedures.
  • Ensures and facilitates an awareness of HSSE in all design and activities across the discipline.
  • Promotes Quality Control throughout their team and ensures that their team works within the Quality Management System and participates in regular quality audits.
  • Analyses exposure to risk and quantifies potential for losses, applies logical solutions for managing the risks taken through composition and implementation of contingency plans.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications as required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
