Role Summary/Purpose

The Machinery Diagnostics (MDS) Director will:

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of our MDS service execution. This includes:
Defining the MDS data acquisition procedures to ensure that the data structure and quality provides the information necessary for machinery analysis;
Defining MDS engineering report preparation standards and structure;
Regular review of selected MDS reports to ensure compliance with established diagnostic methodology and report structure and accuracy;
Providing technical support and assistance as required to MDS engineers during field projects or report preparation;
Providing product application engineering support to sales and the NPI process;
Providing assistance to coordinate MDS service projects on a global level;
Maintaining the MDS corporate knowledge base and report repository;
Maintaining the MDS Support Central web site;
Ensuring compliance of MDS instrumentation metrology schedules

  • Provide coaching and mentoring of MDS engineers to ensure professional development of skills and career planning
  • Serve as a lead instructor for our internal and customer seminars
  • Publish technical papers, attend and participate as a speaker and diagnostic authority at selected technical conferences
  • Participate in the development and execution of the MDS growth strategy
  • Work together with the regional leadership team to meet / exceed the service business operating plan
  • Lead efforts to ensure customer service excellence for all MDS opportunities
  • Implement safety policies that are in compliance with all EHS applicable regulations and employee safety practices
  • Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership, and compliance
  • Lead Six Sigma process improvements
  • Active community service leadership
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minimum 15 years relevant work experience
    Six Sigma Green Belt (GB) certification or equivalent


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Availability to travel on short notice

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Exceptionally strong customer service mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Minimum 20 years of Machinery Diagnostic field experience
  • Minimum 3 years of reliability engineering experience
  • PE license or equivalent
  • Black Belt (BB) or Master Black Belt (MBB) certification or equivalent
